Page 1 ORDINANCE NO, _1957 AN ORDINANCE REVISING CERTAIN PERMIT FEES FOR BUILDING AND CONSTRUCTION IN THE CITY OF PRICHARD; AND AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 1700 NOW THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PRICHARD, ALBAMA, as follows: Section 1. Section 1 of Ordiriance No. 1700 is hereby amended to read, as follows: “SECTION 1. In addition-to all fees, licenses charges, assessments of any kind or nature which are presently charged or levied by the City of Prichard, there is hereby levied and assessed the following building permit fees as follows: 2 (1) On all buildings, structures, or alterations requiring a building permit as set forth in Ordinance No. 905, ‘No. 959 and No. 974, a fee shall be paid as required at the time of filing the application, in accordance with the following: (2) PERMIT FEES: a. Where the valuation does not exceed $100.00, no fee shall be required unless an inspection is necessary, in which case there shall be a $20.00 fee. “For a valuation over $100.00 up to and including $15,000, the fee shall be $20.00 for the first $100.00, plus $3.00 for each additional thousand or fraction thereof. For a valuation over $15,000 up to and including $100,000, the fee shall be $60.00 for the first $15,000 plus $2.00 for each additional thousand or fraction thereof. For a valuation over $100,000 up to and including $500,000 the fee shall be $300.00 for the first $100,000 plus $5.00 for each additional thousand or fraction thereof. For a valuation over $500,000 up to and including $1,000,000.00 the fee shall be $700.00 for the first Page 2 OC O? $500,000.00 plus $1.00 for each additional thousand or fraction thereof. f. For a valuation over $1,000,000.00 the fee shall be $1,000 for the first million plus $.45 for each additional thousand or fraction thereof. g. A plan review fee of $250.00 shall be paid for review of all multiple family, commercial or industrial projects. A fee of $75.00 for all Single Family Dwellings. h. A Plans Review Fee of $400.00 shall be paid for Engineer Services for all Civil Engineer Services; for all Civil Drawings on plans for commercial ‘and Industrial Projects, Subdivision Developments and Multi-Family Projects. i, An inspection fee of $50.00 will be charged on all new business facilities for examination of code compliance. Jj. of 1% of total evaluation shall be added to the above. k. Manufactured Building Permit Fee~ For placement of a manufactured building, a permit fee of fifty dollars ($50.00) shall be paid. (Does not include plumbing, premises wiring, or site permits). (3). MOVING OF BUILDINGS OR STRUCTURES. For the moving of any building or structure, the fee shall be $50.00 (4). | DEMOLTION OF BUILDINGS OR STRUCTURES. For the demolition of any building or structure., the fee shall be $50.00 per story of building. (5). SIGNS. For each permitted sign, the fee shall be 30 cents ($.30) per square foot per face, but in no case less than ($30.00) on an annual basis,” Section 2. Section 2 of Ordinance No. 1700 is hereby amended to read, as - follows: “SECTION 2. The following plumbing fees are hereby levied, imposed and assessed by the City of Prichard, in addition to all other fees which are now levied, or imposed or assessed to-wit: a. Issuance of Permit $15.00 b. Each fixture unit $ 5.00 c. Sewer (new, extension or replacement $ 10.00 Page 3 Cy): d. Water service . $ 5.00 e. Installation, alteration or repair of water Piping and/or water treating equipment _ except on public right-of-way $ 5.00 f. Repair/alteration or drainage or vent piping $ 5.00 g. Each inspection $ 7.00 h. Each additional inspection $ 10.00 i. Reinspection Fee shall be charged whenever an inspection is requested and the work.is found to be not ready for inspection, or there is an improper installation. For each reinspection, the fee shall be $ 20.00 j. Fees for Late permits - Double normal fees” Section 3. Section 3 of Ordinance No. 1700 is hereby amended to read, as follows: “SECTION 3. An inspection fee shall be charged whenever utility service has been discontinued to any structure for.a period of thirty (30) days. The amount of said Inspection fee shall be $20.00 for each inspection. ‘ b. Reinspection fee shall be charged whenever an Inspection is required and the work is found not ready for Inspection, improperly installed or access for Inspection was not obtained, Said reinspection fee shall be $20.00 for each reinspection.” Section 5. The permits and inspection fees referred to in the foregoing sections shall be issued in the manner provided by Ordinance No. 905.‘ The issuance of permits and acceptance of fees as provided by this Ordinance does not authorize commencement of work until written approval is received from the building, plumbing and electrical - inspector, as appropriate, Section 6. Should any word, sentence, phrase, clause, section or any portion of this Ordinance be declared unconstitutional by any Court of competent jurisdiction, it shall not effect the balance of this Ordinance, it being the express intention of the governing body of the City of Prichard, Alabama, that the remainder of the Ordinance would stand regardless of whether or not such words, plirase, clauses, sections, or other parts are declared unconstitutional or invalid or otherwise deleted by a Court of competent jurisdiction. Section 7. Any person, firm or corporation in violation of this Ordinance shall, upon conviction, be fined not more than $500.00, and may, in the discretion of the Judge trying the same, be sentenced to not more than six (6) months hard labor or jail for the City of Prichard, or both. , Section 8. This Ordinance shall become effective immediately wpon its adoption and publication as required by law. .
