Page 1 ORDINANCE NO.: 990 AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND ORDINANCE #1855 BUILDING AND CONSTRUCTION PERMIT FEES NOW THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PRICHARD ALABAMA AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1; Section 1 of Ordinance No. 1855 is hereby amended to read, as follows: : “Section 1. In addition to all fees, licenses charges, assessments of any kind or nature which are presently charged or levied by the City of Prichard, _ there is hereby levied and assessed the following building permit fees as follows: (1) On all buildings, structures, or alterations requiring a building permit as set forth in Ordinance No. 959 and No. 974, a fee shall be paid as required at the time of filing the application, in accordance with the following: (2) PERMIT FEES: a. Where the valuation does not exceed $100.00, no fee shall be required unless an inspection is necessary, in which case there shall be a $20.00 fee. b. Fora valuation over $100.00 up to and including $15,000, the fee shall be $20.00 for the first $100.00 plus $3.00 for each additional thousand or fraction thereof. c. Fora valuation over $15,000.00 up to and including $100,000.00 the fee shall be $60.00 for the first $15,000.00 plus $2.00 for each additional thousand or fraction thereof. d. For a valuation over $100,000.00 up to and including $500,000.00 the fee shall be $300.00 for the first $100,000 plus $5.00 for each additional thousand or fraction thereof. e. For a valuation over $500,000 up to and including $1,000,000.00 the fee shall be $700.00 for the first $500,000.00 plus $1.00 for each additional thousand or fraction thereof. f. For a valuation over $1,000,000.00 the fee shall be $1,000 for the first million plus $.45 for each additional thousand or fraction thereof. Page 2 O g. Aplan review fee of $250.00 shall be paid for review of ail buildings for multiple family or commercial or industrial projects. A fee of $75.00 shall be paid for review of all single-family dwellings. h. A Plan Review Fee of $400.00 shall be paid for engineering services for all civil engineer drawings on plans for commercial and industrial projects, subdivision developments and multi-family projects. i. An inspection fee of $50.00 will be charged on all new business facilities for examination of code compliance. j. % of 1% of total evaluation shall be added to all Building Permits. k. Manufactured Building Permit Fee— For placement of a manufactured building, a permit fee of fifty dollars ($50.00) shall be paid. (Does not include plumbing, premises wiring, or site permits). 1. Other Services: Certificate of Occupancy, a fee of $25.00 shall be paid, A Zoning Certification Letter, a fee of $25.00 shall be paid. m. An issuance fee of $5.00 will be added to building, plumbing, and O electrical permits. n. Inspection of an existing building to issue a certificate of occupancy will be $50.00 per units. (3). | MOVING OF BUILDINGS OR STRUCTURES. a. For the moving of any building or structure. The fee shall be $50.00 (4). | DEMOLTION OF BUILDINGS OR STRUCTURES. a. For the demolition of any building or structure. The fee shall be $50.00 per story of building. (5). SIGNS — a. For each permitted sign, the fee shall be $1.50 per square foot per face, but in no case less than ($30.00) on an annual basis. b. Security Systems — Residential systems - $25.00 Commercial systems - $35.00 SECTION 2. Section 2 of Ordinance No. 1855 is hereby amended to read, as O follows: Page 3 “Section 2. The following plumbing fees are hereby levied, imposed and assessed by the City of Prichard, in addition to all other fees which are now levied, or imposed or assessed to-wit: a. Issuance of Permit $ 5.00 b. Each fixture unit $ 5.00 c. Sewer (new, extension or replacement $10.00 d. Water service $ 5.00 e. Installation, alteration or repair of water Piping and/or water treating equipment except on public right-of-way $ 5.00 f. Repair/alteration or drainage or vent piping $ 5.00 g. Each inspection $ 7.00 h. Each additional inspection $10.00 i, Reinspection Fee shall be charged whenever an inspection is requested and the work is found to be not ready for inspection, or is improperly installed. The amount of said reinspection fee shall be $20.00 for each reinspection. j. Fees for Late permits — Double normal fees k. Gas supply lines $ 5.00 lL. Gas Fixtures $ 5.00 m. Sub Panel $ 7.00 n. The amount of said reinspection fee shall be $20.00 for each reinspection. SECTION 5. Section 5 of Ordinance No. 1855 is hereby amended to read, as follows: “Section 5. The following Inspection fees are hereby levied and assessed by the City of Prichard, in addition to all other fees which are now levied imposed or assessed to-wit: a.) b) An inspection fee shall be charged whenever utility service has been discontinued to any structure for a period of thirty (30) days. The amount of said Inspection fee shall be $20.00 for each inspection. Reinspection fee shall be charged whenever an Inspection is required and the work is found not ready for Inspection, improperly installed or access for Inspection was not obtained. Said reinspection fee shall be $20.00 for each reinspection.” SECTION 6. All parts of Ordinance No. 1855 not affected by this Ordinance shall be and remain the same and in full force and effect.
