Page 1 ORDINANCE NO. 1236 AN ORDINANCE TO PROVIDE FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF SANITARY SEWERS IN THE CITY OF PRICHARD AND TO PROVIDE FOR THE ASSESSMENT OF THE COSTS THEREOF AGAINST THE PROPERTIES SPECIALLY BENEFITED THEREBY BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PRICHARD, ALABAMA, AS FOLLOWS : Le Section 1. The sanitary sewers, manholes, and other appurtenances thereto hereinafter provided for shall be constructed in the City of Prichard pursuant to the provisions of Chapter 11 of Title 37 of the Code of Alabama, recompiled 1958. Section 2. Sanitary sewers, including the necessary manholes and other appurtenances shall be constructed in the corporate limits of the City of Prichard in the locations hereinafter specified: ’ 1. ALDOCK ROAD ~ from the intersection of Whistler Street Northeast to a point 913 feet North of Terminal Street. 2. ANDERSON AVENUE - from the intersection of Whistler Street . East 800 feet. 3. ANNETTE AVENUE - from the intersection of Highway 45 West to the end of said street. 4. AUTREY AVENUE - from the intersection of Westland Road West 600 feet then South 243 feet to the end of said street. 5. The following materials shall be used in the construc— tion of said sanitary sewers: (a) Pipe and fittings shall be made from vitrified clay manufactured according to specification ASTM designation C200-65T. (b) Pipe joints shall be of material having resil- ient properties and shall be applied at the factory, all in accordance with ASTM designa- tion C425-64. \ (c) Manholes shall be of masonry construction or precast reinforced concrete risers and tops, both to have cast iron frames and covers. Section 4. ‘The cost of constructing the improvements provided for in. this ordinance shall be assessed against the properties abutting on the streets and portions thereof herein provided to be improved in the manner provided by the laws of the State of Alabama; pro- ‘ vided, that no assessment shall exceed the cost of the improvements . > and no assessment shall exceed the increased value of the property ‘ to be assessed by reason of the special benefits derived from such improvements. . . Section 5. The improvements provided for in this ordinance shall be completed in accordance with the established grades on file in the office of the City Clerk of the City and with the details, drawing, plans, specifications, and surveys and cost estimates of said works heretofore prepared by Polyengineering, Inc., Consulting Engineers, and on file in the office of the City Clerk of the City of Prichard. The said details, drawing, plans, specifications and surveys of said work. and the cost estimates thereof, which have been exhibited to the City Council, are hereby adopted by said Council and shall remain on file in the office of the City Clerk until 9:00 P, M. May 18 1970, where affected property owners and other interested parties may see and examine same. Section 6. The City Council of the City of Prichard will meet on the 18th day of May , 1970, at 5:00 o'clock P.M. in the City Hall to he xr any objections, remonstrances, or protests that may be made against the improvements provided for herein, the manner of making same, or the character of the materials to be used.
