‘Dear Mrs. Berg;
By means of this letter I am returning Ordinance’ No. 1703
(Rezoning 730 Elba Avenue) on this date, September 19, 1989
to you. I disapprove this rezoning based on the fact that
the neighborhood is entirely made up of single family homes,
street residents have protested similiar rezoning requests
numerous times in the past and that the neighborood had
no objection to a single family home being built on the lot.
Residents have also expressed their complaints regarding the
fact that the property owner has not maintained the lot and
that it is covered in heavy undergrowth and rats. I also
would like to note that the Prichard Planning Commission
voted unanimously to turn down the rezoning request based on
the above stated facts and because it would create more spot
zoning.
