Do residents need a subscription or an account?
No Civic Tap payment or account is required to browse and download records that a municipality has published. Staff administration and private documents remain access-controlled.
Is historical migration included in the annual price?
No. Setup and migration are quoted separately. A clean collection of named PDFs is a different project from image-only scans, email attachments, conflicting identifiers, or missing metadata. The quote specifies the work, volume, and verification requested.
Can we keep our existing municipal website?
Yes. Civic Tap can be linked from the city’s existing website as its records library. Website changes, external system integrations, and any source migration are separately agreed—not automatically performed when an account is created.
Does this include attorney-led codification?
No. The library and codification workbench support organized, reviewed publishing. They do not replace the municipality’s attorney, certify an ordinance’s legal force, or include professional legal analysis, legal memoranda, or adoption services.
Are review and security tools restricted to a premium tier?
The core workflow includes individual staff access, authenticators, review controls, redaction tools, and separate publication. Hosting safeguards, maintenance arrangements, and service commitments must be confirmed in the agreement. No plan here claims unlimited capacity, a compliance certification, or a specific uptime guarantee.
Can Civic Tap publish everything automatically?
No. Uploading and processing are not publication approval. Authorized staff review metadata, redactions, prepared public copies, and accessible text before releasing records. Missing information can remain unknown; it must not be invented.
What happens when our archive grows?
Your quote states the included storage and processing allowances, how usage is measured, and any additional charge or capacity review. Growth is not assumed to be unlimited or silently included.
Can we export our records?
Authorized staff have record and inventory export tools. A complete export can contain restricted material and must remain private. Exit assistance, retention, and account-closure arrangements are confirmed in the written agreement.
Does submitting the form buy a subscription?
No. It creates a private inquiry for Civic Tap’s platform administrators. It does not create a municipal account, accept a contract, schedule an appointment, charge a card, or subscribe you to marketing messages.
