Page 1 ORDINANCE NO, _995 AN ORDINANCE TO CREATE A PRICHARD INDUSTRIAL DEVELOPMENT BOARD, TO PROVIDE FOR THE MEMBERSHIP THEREOF, THE POWERS AND DUTIES, PURPOSES, OFFICERS OF THE COMMISSION, THEIR TERMS OF OFFICE, POWERS AND DUTIES. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PRICHARD, ALABAMA, AS FOLLOWS : SECTION 1, There shall be and is hereby created an Industrial Development Board for the City of Prichard to be known as Prichard 4 1 6 1 3 0 198 659 593 30 -1 5 1 6 1 3 1 198 659 196 25 95.926239 Industrial 5 1 6 1 3 2 415 659 222 30 96.426353 Development 5 1 6 1 3 3 657 659 134 25 79.842026 Board. SECTION 2, The Prichard Industrial Development Board shall consist of 12 members who shall be appointed by joint action of the Mayor and the City Council, The term of office of the members of the Prichard Industrial Development Board shall be for four years. The term of office of the members first appointed shall commence on the 18th day of January, 1965. In the event of a vacancy for any reason in the membership of the Board, the Mayor and City Council shall by joint action appoint a person to fill such vacancy for the unexpired term. SECTION 3, The Prichard Industrial Development Board shall promote industry and develop trade by inducing manufacturing, industrial and commercial enterprises to locate within the corporate limits of the City of Prichard, Alabama and shall work with City and County officials to this end. SECTION 4, The officers of the Prichard Industrial Development Board shall be a Chairman, Vice-Chairman and Secretary, and they shall be elected by the Board from among its appointed members to serve for a term of one year, The Chairman shall preside at all meetings of the Board and shall appoint such Committees as may be necessary to facilitate the work of the Board. The Vice-Chairman shall perform the duties of the Chairman during the absence of the Chairman. ‘The Secretary shall keep minutes of the meetings of the Board, maintain files and records for the Board, and per- form such other duties as may be assigned to him by the Chairman, The Board shall hold at least one regular meeting each month, It shall adopt rules for the transaction of business and shall keep a record of its resolutions, transactions, findings and determinations, which records shall be of public record, SECTION 6, This Ordinance shall have full force and effect upon its approval as required by Law.
