AN ORDINANCE PRESCRIBING PARKING LIMITS AND THE FINE POR
VIOLATING OF SAME ON STREETS PRESENTLY SERVED BY PARKING
METERS

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
PRICHARD, ALABAMA, AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. It shall be unlawful for any person to
park 2 motor vehicle or other object for more than two (2)
consecutive hours between 8:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. of any
day, excepting, however, Sundays and Legal Holidays, on
all streets presently served by parking meters.
* SECTION 2. The Police Department shall cause to be
placed in a conspicious position on any vehicle, or other
object parked or left upon the public streets of Prichard
in violation of this Ordinance a ticket or other notice
of such violation, which such ticket or other notice shall
state the nature of the violation and the time thereof,
For each hour? that such violation shall continue, an
additional ticket or notice shall be likewise placed upon
said vehicle or other object,
SECTION 3, The owner, operator or proprietor of a
vehicle upon which a ticket or notice or tickets or notices
shall have been placed shall be liable in the following
amounts for such violation:
(a) For each ticket issued for such violation,
Fifty ($0.50) cents if such ticket shall be paid within
24 hours from the time the ticket is issued.
(b) For each ticket issued for such violation,
Two ($2.09) Dollars if such ticket shall be paid more than
24 hours but less than 42 hours from the time the ticket
is issued.
(o) Tickets not paid within 48 hours from the time
that the ticket ie issued shall subject the owner, operator
or proprietor to arrest for violation of this Ordinance,
and such person shall, upon eonviction, be punished by a fine
of not more than One Hundred ($100.00) Dollars, and may in
addition, be sentenced to jail or hard labor for the City
of Prichard for a period not to exceed Six (8) Months.
SECTION 4, The effective date of this Ordinance
shall be Mareh 1, 1965,
