Page 1 ORDINANCE NO.1828 AN ORDINANCE TO CREATE A TAX ON BURIALS WITHIN THE CITY OF PRICHARD, ALABAMA BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PRICHARD, ALABAMA, AS FOLLOWS: (1) It is hereby established within the City of Prichard, Alabama, a burial permit fee in the amount of five dollars ($5.00), to be assessed and collected by the License Department of the City of Prichard, Alabama, for all burials occurring within the city limits of the City of Prichard, Alabama. (2) This permit must be obtained at least one (1) business days prior to thé date scheduled for internment. (3) The License Department of the City of Prichard is hereby granted the authority to collect this fee, and to remit same into the General Fund of the City of Prichard, Alabama. (4) I£ any article, section, sentence, clause, Or phrase of this Ordinance is for any reason held to be invalid or unconstitutional by declaration of any court of competent jurisdiction, such declaration shall not affect the validity of the remaining portions of this Ordinance. The City Council hereby declares that it would have adopted this Ordinance and each article, section, sentence, clause, or phrase thereof irrespective of the fact that one or more articles, sections, sentences, clauses, or phrases be declared invalid or unconstitutional. This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its adoption and publication as required by law and shall be effective and operative immediately.
