Page 1 ORDINANCE NO. 1779 AN ORDINANCE SEEKING TO PROHIBIT THE UNAUTHORIZED USE OF WATER FROM FIRE HYDRANTS, FIREPLUGS OR UNMETERED WATER CONNECTIONS SPONSORED BY: CITY COUNCIL BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PRICHARD, ALABAMA, THAT AN ORDINANCE BE ADOPTED AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1 : UNAUTHORIZED TAPPING OF WATER MAIN OR PIPE. Any person who shall tap any water main or pipe, unless authorized to do so, shall be punished as provided in the City Code. SECTION 2: UNAUTHORIZED USE OF WATER FROM FIRE HYDRANTS, FIREPLUGS OR UNMETERED WATER CONNECTIONS. No person shall obtain water from fire hydrant, fireplug.or by means of an unmetered water connection from any water main or Dipe owned or operated by the board of water and sewer commissioners of the city or the waterworks board i except for use in e in hing fires or for munici SECTION 3: INJURING, DEFACING, ETC., PIPES, ETC. Any person who shall wilfully cut, deface, remove, uncover or otherwise injure or disturb any of the mains or pipes used for the conveyance of water into or through the city, or any of the lead or other pipes which may lead therefrom or any of the hydrants, stopcocks, fireplugs or other fixtures attached to any such main or pipe, shall be punished as provided in the City Code.
