Page 1 ua dn Ordinance to provide for certain street improvexents in the City of Prichard and to provide for assessing the cost thereof against the properties especially bene- fited thereby. IMPROVEMENT ORDINANCE NO. Be it Ordained by the City Council of the City of Prichard, Alabama, as follows: Section - 1. That Elizabeth Street be paved from the North Edge of the existing pavement Northward to the South line of Seventh Street a width of 20 feet throughout, wich is to say 10 fest on each side of the center line thereof. Section - 2. That said pavement shall consist of compacted sand-clay base, asphalt prime, asphalt and slag wat and asphalt plant mix seal. The necessary drainage con~ sisting of Portland cement concrete pipes, and briek inlets with cast iron frames and covers shall be installed as needed along the above described street. Section - 3. The cost of constructing the improvements provided for in the preceding Sections 1 and 2? shall be acsessed against the properties abutting on the streets and portione thereof herein provided to be improved in the sanner provided by the laws of the State of Alabama; provided; that no assessment shall exceed the cost of the im- provements and no assessxert shall exceed the increased value of the property to be assessed by reason of the special benefits derived from such improvements. Section - 4. The improvements provided for in this ordinance shall be completed in accordance with the established grades on file in the office of the City Clerk of the City and with the details, drawings, plans, specifications, and surveys and cost estimates of said work heretofore prepared by LADD ENGINESRING COMPANY and on file in the office of the City Clerk of the City of Prichard. The said detéils, drawings, plans, specifications, ard surveys of said work and the cast estimates ‘ gehe f AG3 thereof, whieh have been exhibited to the City Couneil, are hereby adopted by sai council and shall remain on file in the offiee of the City Clerk until Feb. 4, 1957 where atfected property owners and other interested parties may see and examine the same, Section - 5, The City Couneil of the City of Prichard will weet on the at 5:00 o'clock, ”.M., in the City Halil to hear any a jections, remonstrances, or protests that may be mde against the improvements provided for herein,’ the manner of mking same, or the cmracter of the mterials to be used, Section - 6. The City Clerk is hereby directed to have a copy of this ordinance sent by registered mail, postage prepaid, to each of the mrsons last assessing for City taxation the property which may be assessed for said improvements, each such copy to be mailed to each such person at ae | last known address and to be mailed not less than ten days prior to Feb. 4, 1957 bo Feb.
