Page 1 ORDINANCE NO.: __ 2069 AN ORDINANCE ADOPTING THE GENERAL FUND BUDGET FOR THE CITY OF PRICHARD, ALABAMA FOR FISCAL YEAR 2018-2019 WHEREAS, in August of 2018, the Mayor of the City of Prichard, Alabama transmitted to the City Council for consideration his budget message and the proposed General Fund Budget for Fiscal Year 2018-2019, said budget projecting revenue in the amount of $10,837,100 and total expenditures of $10,837,100 including a budget reserve in the amount of $216,800.00; WHEREAS, pursuant to §11-43C-48 of the Code of Alabama 1975, as amended, upon due notice as required by law, the City Council of the City of Prichard, Alabama convened and held a public hearing on said budget on September 27 _, 2018; WHEREAS, at the beginning of the 2018-2019 Fiscal Year on October 1, 2018, the City of Prichard, Alabama, having not adopted a general fund budget for the new fiscal year, continued to operate under the General Fund Budget for Fiscal Year 2017- 2018 pursuant to §11-43C-51 until such time as a newly revised budget could be adopted; ‘WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Prichard now desires to adopt the General Fund Budget for Fiscal Year 2018-2019, as presented by the Mayor of the City of Prichard to the City Council in August of 2018, with the following adjustment under and pursuant to the authority granted to the City Council pursuant to §11-43C-49 Code of Alabama 1975: 1. Line Item No. 20205 Other Professional Services $185,000.00 -- is reduced by $40,000.00 such that said line item now reads as follows, to-wit: Line Item No. 20205 Other Professional Services $145,000.00; 2. Line Item No. 24100 Public Works Salaries $774,539.00 — is increased by $40,000.00 such that said line item now reads as follows, to-wit: Line Item No. 24100 Public Works Salaries $814,539.00; 3. Line Item No. 24000 Public Works Other $3,500.00 — is reduced by $3,500.00 such that said line item now reads as follows, to-wit: Line Item No. 24000 Public Works Other $0000.00; and Page 2 4. Line Item No. 20928 Council Secretary $24,980.00 is increased by $3,500.00 such that said line item now reads as follows, to-wit: Line Item No. 20928 Council Secretary $28,480.00. WHEREAS, the Director of Finance has certified in writing or acknowledged on the record that the spending plan as proposed by the Mayor of the City of Prichard in his proposed General Fund Budget for Fiscal Year 2018-2019 together with the expenditures heretofore made to date pursuant to and under the 2017-2018 General Fund Budget, as carried-over into Fiscal Year 2018-2019 pursuant to §11-43C-51 during the 2018-2019 Fiscal Year together do not exceed the projected receipts and available surplus in accordance with the provisions of §11-43C-49; NOW THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PRICHARD, ALABAMA, as follows: ly That the General Fund Budget for the City of Prichard, Alabama, for Fiscal Year 2018-2019 along with the revisions of the City Council made pursuant to §11-43C-49 Code of Alabama 1975 and contained in Exhibit “A” annexed thereto, containing projected revenue in the amount of $10,837,100.00 and total expenditures in the amount of $10,837,100.00, including a budget reserve in the amount of $216,800.00, is hereby approved and adopted.
