Page 1 ORDINANCE #_1902 AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND ORDINANCE #362 AS AMENDED BY ORDINANCE #1541 AND #492 AND #436, KNOWN AS THE BEVERAGE CONTROL ORDINANCE, NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PRICHARD, ALABAMA, as follows: Section 1. That Section 2 of (A) and (C) Ordinance #362, as amended by Ordinance #436, 492 and 1541, and commonly known as the Beverage Control Ordinance is hereby amended to read as follows: LIQUOR LICENSE TAX ; Section 2: There is hereby imposed, levied and assessed against every person engaged in the business of selling liquor within the corporate limits of the City of Prichard, in addition to all license taxes heretofore imposed and now existing against them, an additional license tax equal to twelve percent (12%) of the value of the liquor purchased by the retailer for resale. There is hereby imposed, levied and assessed against every person engaged in the business of selling liquor within the police jurisdiction of the City of Prichard, in addition to all license taxes heretofore imposed and now existing against them, an additional license tax equal to six percent (6%) of the value of the liquor purchased by the retailer for resale. : For the purpose of this Section, value is defined as the purchase price paid by the retailer for all liquor purchases, from whatever source, less any taxes imposed by the State of Alabama pursuant to Section 28-3-200, et seq., Code of Alabama Section 2 This ordinance shall have full force and effect upon its approval as required by Taw.
