ORDINANCE NO, 646
An Ordinance to Provide for the Sanitary Sewers in the City of
Prichard.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PRICHARD, ALABAMA,
AS FOLLOWS, TO-WIT:
1. That sanitary sewers be constructed on Donna Drive from Whistler
Avenue to Chip Street.
2. That in the construction of said sewers all necessary risers, |
connections, wyes, manholes and other appurtenances, including
extension of house services to points twelve feet from the center
line of the street be constructed. All as shown by the plans for
seid project, which are hereby approved by the City Council and
placed on file in the office of the City Clerk where interested
parties may see and examine the same.
3. That in the construction of said sewers all pipe shall be of
vitrified clay with bituminous joints, that all manholes shall be
constructed of clay brick with concrete bottoms and cast iron frames
and covers.
4. The property drained, served, and benefited by the sanitary sewer
improvements provided herein is hereby defined asthe property abutting
on seid improvements and fronting and abutting on both sides of Donna
Drive from Whistler Avenue to Chip Street.
5. That the detail drawings, maps, profiles, specifications, and
cost estimates prepared by Ladd Engineering Company, as already
referred to, are on file in the office of the City Clerk and open
te inspection by the public.
6. That the Council of the City of Prichard together with the Mayor
hear any objections, remonstrances or protests that may be made
against said improvements, the manner of making the same, the character
of materials to be used, or the method provided for the payment thereof.
7. That the Clerk of the City of Prichard, Alabama, is hereby
authorized and directed to have this ordinance published in The Citizen,
a weekly newspaper published in said City and in general circulation
therein for two consecutive weeks, and he shall also give notice to
each known owner by registered mail whose property is effected by said
improvements, as the law provides in such cases.
This ordinance shall take effect from and after its passage,
approval and publication as required by law.
