Page 1 ORDINANCE NO; _ 1940 AN ORDINANCE OPENING CERTAIN PORTIONS OF LOVEJOY LOOP IN THE PRICHARD TO TWO-WAY TRAFFIC WHEREAS, the governing body of the City of Prichard, Alabama finds and determines that opening portions of Lovejoy Loop in the City of Prichard for two-way traffic would improve the flow of traffic in the downtown area; WHEREAS, the governing body of the City of Prichard, Alabama finds and determines that it is in the best public interest to make certain portions of Lovejoy Loop a two-way street; and WHEREAS, the Mayor of the City of Prichard has recommended that certain portions of Lovejoy Loop be opened for two-way travel; NOW THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PRICHARD, ALABAMA, as follows: 1. That certain portion of Lovejoy Loop east of Wilson Avenue, presently a one-way street running north, from and between its intersection with Sweeney’s Lane on the south and its intersection with Clark Avenue on the north, is hereby opened as a street of two-way travel. 2. That certain portion of Lovejoy Loop west of Wilson Avenue, presently a one- way street running south, from and between its intersection with Wilson Avenue on the North and Wilson Avenue on the south, is hereby opened as arstreet of two-way travel. 3. This ordinance shall not affect the flow of traffic along any portion of Lovejoy Loop not specifically described and altered herein. 4. The mayor of the City of Prichard is hereby authorized and directed to cause the erection of such traffic signs and devices as may be necessary and prudent to reflect two-way traffic and to warn the public of the change of traffic flow along the designated portions of Lovejoy Loop. 5. This ordinance shall become effective immediately upon its adoption and publication as required by law.
