WHEREAS, on the 7th day of October, 1957, at a regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Prichard, Alabama, the following resolution was adopted: A RESOLUTION PROVIDING FOR PUBLIC NOTICE OF A HEAR- ING TO CONSIDER THE ADOPTION OF A NEW ELECTRICAL CODE FOR THE CITY OF PRICHARD, ALABAMA. BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY . OF PRICHARD, ALABAMA, as follows: SECTION I: That the City Council of the City of Prichard, Alabama, proposes to consider the adoption of a new revision and codification of its ordinances relative to the doing of electrical work within the City of Prichard and its police jurisdiction, and the adoption of an electrical code for the City of Prichard and its police jurisdiction by ordinance as provided by the Code of Ala- pama of 190, Title 47, Section 62 as amended, and will hold a pub- lic hearing thereon at the regular meeting of the City Council of Prichard to be held in the Council chamber of the City Hall in Prich- ard, Alabama, on the lth day of November, 1957, at 5:00 P. SECTION IIT. Said Electrical Code shall be in full force and effect on and after the approval of this Ordinance as required by law, and shall become operative as the Electrical Code of the City of Prichard, Alabama, and its police jurisdiction, and all Ordin- ances heretofore adopted by the City of Prichard in conflict with the provisions contained in the said Hlectrical Code shall be, and the same hereby are, repealed to the extent of such conflict, except insofar as saved by the provisions contained in the said Electrical Code. SECTION III. The City Clerk of the City of Prichard shall cause to be printed and bound as many copies of the said Blectrical Code as he shall deem necessary to serve the needs of the City of Prichard and its police jurisdiction and all the demands of persons desiring copies thereof; he shall read all the provisions, correct all the manifest errors, compare the printed book with the original manuscript, and see that the electrical code corresponds accurately with the original as adopted, and upon completion of the printing of said Electrical Code he shall certify these facts to be City Coun- cil of the City of Prichard. SECTION IV. A copy of this ordinance shall be published pur- suant and according to law, after its adoption, but it shall not Page 3 ” A mR a be necessary for the said Electrical Code to be published in any newspaper, nor shall the same be spread at length upon the minutes of this City Council, but this Ordinance shall be recorded in said minutes. SECTION V. The Electrical Code this day adopted by this Or- Ginance shall be certified by the City Clerk to be correct and to have been adopted by the City Council of the City of Prichard, Ala- bama, and to have been printed by their authority and a copy of such certificate shall be published with each bound copy of said electrical code, Adopted this 22 day of Nevembery 1957.
