Page 1 ORDINANCE NO. 16 qY AN ORDINANCE LEVYING THE ANNUAL CITY AD VALOREM TAX ON MOTOR VEHICLES BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PRICHARD, ALABAMA, AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. That a city ad valorem tax for the tax year commencing on October 1, 1958, and ending on September 30, 1959, is hereby levied for the use of the City of Prichard, Alabama, upon and against each and every motor vehicle situated in the corporate limits of said City, and pro- vided further, that the levy here made is upon assessments to be made on the State assessment in the manner provided by the Constitution and Laws of the State of Alabama. Section 2. That the rate of said tax shall be and the same is hereby fixed at 1/2 of one per centum of the value of such motor vehicles assessed for State taxation for the tax year provided by the laws of the State of Alabama. Section 3. That the tax collector of Mobile County, Alabama, shall collect all ad valorem taxes on motor vehicles levied on hereunder, and which are due to the City of Prichard, Alabama, and shall report and pay over the tax moneys so collected for said City at the same time and in the same manner as State and County taxes are reported and paid over by hin. Section 4. That,all State laws on municipal taxation appli- cable hereto $e"fnd the same are hereby adopted and made a part hereof as fully as if herein specifically set out. Section 5. That if any part, clause, phrase, or provision hereof is declared invalid, the rest shall stand, and that this ordinance shall be and become effective on and after its adoption as provided by law.
