Page 1 ORDINANCE NO. 1276 AN ORDINANCE PROHIBITING THE PRACTICE OF FORTUNE-TELLING, PALMISTRY, PHRENOLOGY, CRYSTAL GAZING, AND CLAIRVOYANCY FOR REWARD BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PRICHARD, ALABAMA, AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. That Sections 120 and 183 of Ordinance No. 1100, the License Code of the City of Prichard, are hereby repealed. Section 2. That the practice of fortune-telling, palmistry, phrenology, crystal gazing and clairvoyancy for a reward or compensation of any kind be and the same is hereby prohibited within the City of Prichard and its Police Jurisdiction. Section 3. That the Tax Officer shall refund in full all license fees paid by any person for a license undér Sections 120 and 183 of said Ordinance No. 1100 for a current city license and shall forthwith cancel such license. Section 4. Any person violating Section 2 of this Ordinance shall, upon conviction, be punished by fine of not more than One Hundred ($100.00) Dollars, and may in addition, be sentenced to jail or hard labor for the City of Prichard for a period not to exceed six (6) months. Section 5. This ordinance shall have full force and effect upon its approval as required by law. ADOPTED this ist day of February, 1971.
