Page 1 ORDINANCE NO. __ 1936 AN ORDINANCE ANNEXING CERTAIN PROPERTY INTO THE CORPORATE LIMITS OF THE CITY OF PRICHARD, ALABAMA nr Sponsored by: Troy L. Towner, Councilor WHEREAS, Mount Hebron Baptist Church, Inc., has filed with the governing body a petition to annex certain lands into the corporate limits of the City of Prichard, Alabama; WHEREAS, the property sought to be annex to the corporate limits of the City of Prichard, Alabama, is described as follows: COM AT SE COR LOT 13 OF OWNE DIV OF ST LOUIS TRT RUN SWLY ALG N/L BERKLEY AVE 988 FT TO A PT AT INTERSECT OF N/S OF BERKLEY AVE & E/S OF JESSIE ST THEN RUN NLY 1,038 FT ALG E/L INDUSTRIAL ST W TO A PT AT INTERSECT OF S/E OF INDUSTRIAL ST W & 1-65 SERVICE RD S$ THEN RUN 569 FT E TO THE N INTERSECT OF LOTS 11 & 15 THEN RUN S 702 FT TO A PT THEN E 202 FT TO THE INTERSECT OF THE LIMIT BOUNDARIES OF MOBILE AND PRICHARD WHEREAS, it appears to the governing body of the City of Prichard, Alabama from the said petition that the property is owned by and assessed to Mount Hebron Baptist Church, Inc.; that the property which is contiguous to the corporate limits of the City of Prichard, Alabama, and the property was authorized to be deannexed from the City of Mobile by Resolution Number 02-497 adopted by the City Council’of the City of Mobile on September 2, 1997; and : WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Prichard, Alabama desires to annex said property into the corporate limits of the City of Prichard, Alabama; NOW THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PRICHARD, ALABAMA, as follows: 1. That the City of Prichard hereby assents to the petition for annexation filed by Mount Hebron Baptist Church, Inc. and the property described as: COM AT SE COR LOT 13 OF OWNE DIV OF ST LOUIS TRT RUN SWLY ALG N/L BERKLEY AVE 988 FT TO A PT AT INTERSECT Page 2 1,038 FT ALG E/L INDUSTRIAL ST W TO A PT AT INTERSECT OF S/E OF INDUSTRIAL ST W & I-65 SERVICE RD S THEN RUN 569 FT ETO THEN INTERSECT OF LOTS 11 & 15 THEN RUN 8 702 FT TO A PT THEN E 202 FT TO THE INTERSECT OF THE LIMIT BOUNDARIES OF MOBILE AND PRICHARD, is hereby annexed to the corporate limits of the City of Prichard, Alabama. That the municipal boundaries of the City of Prichard are hereby extended and rearranged so as to embrace and include said property and such property shall, upon the adoption of this ordinance and effective date of publication of this ordinance as required by law, become a part of the corporate area of the City of Prichard, Alabama. 3. The City Clerk of the City of Prichard, Alabama, shall file a certified copy of this Ordinance and a description of the property annexed by this Ordinance in the office of the Judge of Probate of Mobile County, Alabama 4.
