Page 1 ORDINANCE NO, Ss v 7 Be it Ordained by the City Council of the City of Prichard, alabama, as followss Section One: That a City Ad Valorem Tax for the tax year commencing on October 1, 1953, and ending on September 30, 195%, is hereby levied for the use of said city of Prichard 7 and against each and every parcel of property, whether real, personal, or mixed , and upon and against each and pe and all subjects of taxation liable therefor (except motor vehicles) situated in the corporate limits of said city; provided however, that all homesteads are hereby exempted from all ad valorem tax as one contiguous piece, The word homestead as used herein is omes= stead" as now defined by the Constitution and laws of Alabama. In no case shall this exemption apply to more than one person, the head of the family, for one homestead. : Seetion Two: That the rates of said tax shall be and same is hereby fixed at one-half of one wr centum of the value of such property and sube jects as assessed for state taxation for the same tax year. Section Three; That after the aforesaid assessments have been made, said taxes shall become due on October lst 1954, and delinquent on fe swan oe 1955, and shall after becoming delingtent beer the legal rate of nterests Section Fours; The tax assessor and tak collector and the other officers of the County of Mobile and State of Alabama shall proceed to assess and eollect said taxes as provided Section 201 Article 6 of House Bill 324 of Legislature of Alabama of 1939, and all the provisions of said section re hereby expressly adopted for the assessment and collection of said axeSe Section Five; That if any part, clause, phrase, or provision hereof be declared invalid, the rest shall stand, and that this ordinance shall be and become effective on and after its adoption. Adopted and approved this 18 day of May, 1953.6
