BE If ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PRICHARD, ALABAMA, AS FOLLOWS : Section 1. That sub-sections Nos. 7, 50, 58, 78, 8h, 9h, 108, 119, 120, 13h, 151, 162, 185, 21h, 265, 306, 307, 327, and 328 of Section One of Ordinance No. 669, the License Code of the City of Prichard, Alabama, are hereby amended to read as follows: 7. Beer Wholesalers or Distributors Making Deliveries into City =- $1100. 50. Billard and Pool Tables, With Permission of City Council Only - $16.50 per table. 58. Bottling Works or Wholesale Dealers in Soft Drinks: Gross Sales Under $100,000.00 - $150.00; gross sales of $100,000.00 and over - $250.00 plus gross sales tax. 78. Check Cashing Service = $2.50. 8).. Civil Engineers and Surveyors - $41.25. 9. Contractors and/or Sub-contractors, but Not Including Licensed Plumbers and/or Electricians - $16.50 plus 4 of 1% of cost of each job. (Not to be prorated.) License must be approved by Council. 108. Directories - $75.00. 119. Express Companies - $300.00. 120. Eyeglasses, When Not Principal Business - $27.50; when eyes tested and glasses fitted - $67.50. 13).. Flour and/or feed Dealers, Wholesale: Stock under $50,000.00 - $125.00; Stock of $50,000.00 and over - $250.00. 151. Wholesale Groceries: Stock under $50,000.00 - $200.00; Stock of $50,000.00 and over - $350.00. 162. Commercial Housecleaning, whether by Steam or Any Other Method - $37.50. 185. Ladies'and/or Men's Wearing Apparel, where principal busi- ness - $165.00. 21). Milk Depot or Processing Plant. Based on number of employees: 1-2 workers - $27.50; 3-l, workers - $33.00; 5-20 workers - $61.80; 21-75 workers - $110.00; 76-100 workers - 12375; 101-200 workers - $165.00; 201-500 workers - $291.25. Telephone Companiesa:- Exchange License - $1,110.00 plus the sum of feo.06 for each additional 1,000 inhabitants or majority frac- tion thereof in the City of Prichard in excess of 20,000 inhabitants according to the Federal Census next preceding the year for which the license tax is assessed; Long Distance License - $278.00 plus the sum of $15.00 for each additional 1,000 inhabitants or majority fraction thereof in the City of Prichard in excess of 20,000 inhabitants accord- ing to the Federal Census next preceding the year for which the license tax is assessed. . 327. Vehicles, For Hire « $27.50. 328. Vending or Coin Machines ~- One cent dispense - $3.00; One cent amusement - Go 0255 Five Gents or over vending = $11.00; Five Cents or over amusement or music - $18.75; provided, that the purchase of this license shall not exempt the owner or operator of the place of business from the purchase of ‘the license required for the sale of the merchandise vended in such machine; and further provided that when the owner or operator of the place of business shall have purchased the license required for the sale of the merchandise vended in such machine, he or she shall not also be required to purchase the license required by this sub-section. Section 2. That Section One of Ordinance No. 669, the License Code of the City of Prichard, Alabama, is hereby amended by adding thereto the following additional sub-sections: 15-A. Armored Car Service - $55.00. 65-A. Builders and/or Developers When Building for Resale - $16.50 plus % of 1% of cost of each. job. (Not to be prorated.) License must be approved by Council. - 92-A. Persons or firms selling, distributing, transporting, and/or delivering coal, coke, and/or charcoal to industrial plants - 3% of the gross receipts for the business transacted by such person or firm in the City of Prichard for the preceding year. ‘The provisions of this paragraph to be applied to operation in the police jurisdiction of the City of Prichard on the basis of 12% of said gross receipts. 180-A. Janitorial Service and/or Window Washers - $41.25. 22-A. Persons or Firms Servicing Racks and/or Displays in Stores operated by Others - $11.00 per rack or aisplay. - 266-A. Section 3. That sub-section 125 of Section One of Ordinance No. 669, The License Code of the City of Prichard, Alabama, is hereby repealed. Section . Hach and every provision of this Ordinance is hereby declared to be an independent provision, and the holding of any provision hereof to be void or invalid shall not affect any other provision hereof, and it is hereby declared that the other provisions of this Ordinance would have been enacted regardless of any provision which might be held invalid.
