Page 1 ae ORDINANCE NO. 1002. AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR A LICENSE TO MOVE HEAVY MACHINERY OR EQUIPMENT : a: BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PRICHARD, ALABAMA AS FOLLOWS: Sectionl. Every person, firm or corporation, before moving any heavy machinery or equipment, on or along any public street in the City of Prichard, which such mevement would constitute a hazard to other traffic, or endanger life or property along the route of.such movement, shall obtain a license for each such move, and a fee jof TEN DOLLARS ($10.00) is hereby fixed as the cost of said license, such fee to be applied to the expense jof surveying the intended route of movement, and expense of police escort and assistance, and to be placed into a special fund for the purchase and maintenance of lpolice motorcycles; provided, however, that persons, firms or corporations having a place of business in the corporate limits of the City of Prichard may obtain such license without charge therefor if they are prepared to provide, and do provide, a leader truck or automobile with a flashing red light to immediately precede such heavy machinery or equipment during its movement. ~ Section 2. A detailed lplan showing the proposed route of movement and the dimensions of the heavy machinery or equipment to be moved shall be presented to the Chief of Police at least 24 hours prior to the time such move is to bemade. Section 3. Any person, firm or corporation violating any provision of this Ordinance shall, upon conviction, be punished by a fine of not more than One Hundred ($100.00) Dollars, and may in addition, be sentenced to jail or hard labor for the City of Prichard for a period not to exceed six (6) months. oe Section 4, Ordinance No. 799 is hereby expressly repealed. Any other Ordinance in conflict with the provisions hereof is hereby repealed or modified to the extent of such conflict. ADOPTED this __1stday of March , 1965.
