AN ORDINANCE TO PROVIDE FOR CERTAIN STREET IMPROVEMENTS IN THE CITY OF PRICHARD, ALABAMA, AND TO PROVIDE FOR ASSESSING THE COST THEREOF AGAINST THE PROPERTIES THEREOF ESPECIALLY BENEFITED THEREBY. BE I? ORDAINED BE THE GITE GOUNGIL OF THE GIf¥ Of PRICHARD, ALABAMA, AS FOLLOWS: . SECTION 1. That Durant Avenue be paved from the South edge of pavement of Old Citronelle Road, South 1400 feet to the end of the project. SECTION 2. That Eastland Road be paved from the Northwest edge of pavement of Lott Road, Northwest 1035 feet to the end of the project. SECTION 3. That Armory Road shall be paved from the centerline of Eastland Road Northwest to the centerline of Westland Road. SECTION 4... That Westland Road shall be paved from the Northwest edge of pavement of Lott Road, Northwest to the centerline of Armory Road. SECTION 5, That Lenn Court shall be paved from the centerline of Dalton Drive South 246 feet to the end of the project. SECTION 6, That Dalton Drive shall be paved from the South edge of the pavement of Shelton Beach Road South 698 feet to the end of the project. SECTION 7. That Stile Street shall be paved from the South edge of pavement of St. Stephens Road South to the centerline of Owens Street. SECTION 8. That Dial Street West shall be paved from the West edge of the pavement of Bear Fork Road West 1500 feet to the end of the project. SECTION 9, “That Dial Stréet East shall be paved. from_the.Hast edge of the pavement of Bear Fork Road East to the centerline of Opp Avenue. SECTION 10. That Delhi Street shall be paved from the centerline of Dykes Road West 719 feet to the end of the project. SECTION 11. SECTION 15, That Cayouga Street shall be paved from the West edge of the pavement of St. Stephens Road West to the intersection of Owens Street. SECTION 16. That Venella Avenue shall be paved from the centerline of Owens Street East to the intersection of Oneal Street. SECTION 17. That Oneal Street - Part II, shall be paved from the intersection of Venella Avenue Southwest 412.70 feet to the end of the project. SECTION 18. That Nola Street shall be paved from the West edge of the pavement of St. Stephens Road West to the centerline of Oneal Street. SECTION 19. That McCants Avenue shall be paved from the centerline of Owens Street Northeast to the centerline of Oneal Street. SECTION 20. That West Clark Avenue shall be paved from the South edge of the pavement of St. Stephens Road South 1300 feet to the ‘end of the project. SECTION 21. That Oneal Street ~ Part I, shall be paved from the centerline of Clark Drive North to the centerline of Cato Avenue. SECTION 22. That Cato Avenue shall be paved from a point 228 feet Southwest of the intersection of Oneal Street Northeast 357 fest. to the end of the project. SECTION 23. That Chastang Avenue shall be paved from the South edge of the pavement of St. Stephens Road South 1300 feet to the end of the project. SECTION 2b, That Lafargue Street shall be paved from the North edge of the pavement of Prichard Lane Northwest to the centerline of Clark Avenue. SECTION 25, é That Leggett Avenue shall be paved from the centerline of Owens Street East and then North to the centerline of Clark Avenue. a Page 3 » Page 3. SECTION 26. That Short Street shall be paved from the North edge of the pavement of Prichard Lane North to the centerline of Chastang Street. SECTION 27. That Salem Street shall be paved from the South edge of the pavement on Bear Fork Road Northwestwardly, 1905 feet to the North side of Gay Avenue. SECTION 28. That Gilmer Avenue shall be paved from the Hast side of Salem Street Northeastwardly 1050 feet to centerline of Dial Street. SECTION 29. That Medley Street shall be paved from centerline of Dykes Road eastwardly 1150 feet to end. SECTION 30. That Hand Avenue shall be paved from the West edge of pavement on St. Stephens Road, West 1000 feet. to end. SECTION 31. That Chastang Avenue shall be paved from the North edge of the pavement of St. Stephens Road Northeast 1040 feet to end of project. SECTION 32. That Owens Street shall be paved from the intersection of Berkley Avenue South to Third Avenue. SECTION 33. That Wayfarer Drive shall be paved from the Hast edge of the pavement of West Meyers Road to the North edge of pavement of South Shelton Beach Road. SECTION 34. That Owens Street shall be paved from the intersection of Cheeseman Avenue South 2385 feet to end. SECTION 35. That Keener Street shall be paved from the South edge of ~ _.. pavement of Leeds Avenue South 1107 feet to end. SECTION 36. — ian That Brock Avenue shall be paved from the South edge of the pavement of Whistler Street Southwest to the intersection of Rebel Road. SECTION 37. That Book Avenue shall be paved from the South edge of the pavement of Whistler Street Southwest to the intersection of Rebel Road. , SECTION 38. That Patricia Avenue shall be paved from the South edge of the pavement of Whistler Street Southwest to the intersection of Rebeh Road. ~~ Page 4 Page 4. SECTION 39. That North Atmore Avenue shall be paved from the South edge of the pavement of Whistler Street Southwest to the intersection of West Turner Road. SECTION 40, That said pavement shall consist of compacted clay base, asphalt prime and asphalt plant mix seal. The necessary drainage shall be installed. SECTION 41. The cost of constructing the improvements provided for in the sections preceeding shall be assessed against the properties abutting on the streets and portions thereof herein provided to be improved in the manner provided by the laws of the State of Alabama; provided that no assessment shall exceed the cost of the improvements and no assessment shall exceed the increased value of the property to be assessed by reason of the special benefit derived from said improvements. SECTION 42, The improvements provided for in this Ordinance shall be completed in accordance with the established grades on file with the City Clerk of the City of Prichard and with the details, drawings, plans, specifications and surveys and cost estimates of said work heretofore prepared by Polyengineering and on file in the office of the City Clerk of the City of Prichard. The said details, drawings, plans, specifications and surveys of said work and the cost estimates thereof, which have been exhibited to the City Council of the City of Prichard, are hereby adopted by the said City Council of the City of Prichard and shall remain on file in the office of the City Clerk of the City of Prichard until the 6th day of July, 1964, where affected property owners and other interested parties may see and examine the same. SECTION 43, The City Council of the City of Prichard will meet on the 6th day of July, 1964, at 4 o'clock P.M. C.S.T. in the City Hall of the City of Prichard to hear any objections, remonstrances or protests that may be made against the improvements provided for herein, the manner of making the same or the character of the materials to be used. SECTION 4, The City Clerk of the City of Prichard is hereby directed to cause a copy of this Ordinance to be published once a week for two successive weeks in the Mobile Press or the Mobile Register, both of which are newspapers of general circulation in the City of Prichard, the first insertion to be at least two weeks prior to the 6th day of July, 1964, the date herein set to hear objections, remonstrances or protests that may be made against the improvements provided for herein. SECTION 45, The City Clerk of the City of Prichard is hereby directed to have a copy of this Ordinance sent by registered mail, proper United States postage prepaid to each of the persons last assessing for city taxation the property which may be assessed for said improvements, each such copy to be mailed to each such person to his last known address and to be mailed not less than ten days prior to the 6th day of July, 1964, ADOPTED THIS THE 1ST DAY OF JUNE, 1964, As its
