Page 1 ORDINANCE NO.: __ 2065 AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND ORDINANCE NO. 2055, BEING THE 2017-2018 BUDGET ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF PRICHARD, ALABAMA WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Prichard, Alabama approved Ordinance'No. 2055 on September 28, 2017, adopting the General Fund Budget for the City of Prichard, Alabama for Fiscal Year 2017-2018; WHEREAS, on May 31, 2018, the Finance Committee of the City of Prichard met along with the Mayor of the City of Prichard and members of the Financial Advisory Committee of the City of Prichard to review and consider certain recommendations for amendment of the 2017- 2018 General Fund Budget of the City of Prichard; WHEREAS, at the conclusion of said Finance Committee meeting, and upon the recommendation of the Mayor of the City of Prichard, the Finance Committee has proposed that three (3) Line Items in the said 2017-2018 General Fund Budget be amended, as follows, to-wit: @ That General Fund Budget Line Item 20305 Advertising/Public Relations be amended by increasing the same from $5,000.00 to $30,000.00; (ii) | That General Fund Budget Line Item 20910 Mayor Expenses be amend by increasing the same from $10,000.00 to: $20,000.00; and (iii) | That General Budget Line Item 26400 Equipment be amended by increasing the same from $77,167.00 to $248,000.00; WHEREAS, the total amount to be added to said Budget Line Items 20305, 20910-and 26400 is $205,833.00; . WHEREAS, in order to accomplish said amendment, the Mayor of the City of Prichard recommends that Line Item 21100 Salaries — Police Officers be amended by decreasing the same by $205,833.00 from $1,020,426 to $814,593.00; WHEREAS, upon the recommendation of the Mayor of the City of Prichard, the governing body finds and determines that it is in the best interest and good of the City of Prichard to amend Ordinance No. 2055 as requested. NOW THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PRICHARD, ALABAMA, AS FOLLOWS: Page 2 Section 1. That on the recommendation of the Mayor of the City of Prichard, Alabama, the following Line Items of the 2017-2018 General Fund Budget of the City of Prichard are hereby amended, as follows: (a) That General Fund Budget Line Item 20305 Advertising/Public Relations be amended by increasing the same from $5,000.00 to $30,000.00: (b) That General Fund Budget Line Item 20910 Mayor Expenses be amend by increasing the same from $10,000.00 to $20,000.00; and (c) That General Budget Line Item 26400 Equipment be amended by increasing the same from $77,167.000 to $248,000.00. Section 2. That upon the recommendation of the Mayor, Line Item 21100 Salaries — Police Officers is hereby amended by decreasing the same by $205,833.00 from $1,020,426 to $814,593.00. Section 3. That by his signature affixed herein below, the Finance Director of the City of Prichard, Alabama hereby certifies that there is a sufficient unexpended and unencumbered balance in Budget Line Item 21100 Salaries ~ Police Officers to meet the amendments and appropriations contained in Section 1 hereof. Section 4. That all other parts of Ordinance No. 2055 shall be and remain the same. Section 5. This ordinance shall become effective immediately upon its adoption and publication as required by law.
