IMPROVEMENT ORDINANCE NO» 558
An Ordinance’to provide certain improvements on Telegraph Road, Bay
Bridge Road‘and Hill crest Avenue, all in the City of Prichard,
Alabama, to provide for the kind and character of improvements t
be made ard the method to be employed in paying for same,
BE.IT ORDAINED BY HE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PRICHARD, ALABAMA,
As POLLOWS, TO<WITs
1, Thdat-Sanitary Sewers be constructed as follows: On the East Side
of Telégraph Road from Meaher Avenue to Bay Bridge Road, on the West
Sid6 of; Telegraph Road from a point 50 feet north of Criterion Street
_to thé Mobile City Limits just south of Hill Crest Avenue3; on Hill
“Crest Avenue from Telegraph Road westward about 800 feet, on the south
side; of! Bay Bridge Road from Telegraph wastward about 150 feet, on the
north side of Bay Bridge road from Traffic Strest westward about 150
feet.
26/ “Hien the construction of said sewers all necessary connections,
aa, manholes and other sopurtenances, be constructed, all as shown by
the| detail drawings, plans, specifications, and surveys am cost estimate
. for sald work heretofore prepared by E a Engineering Company and on file
in: the Office of the City Clerk of th ag ty of Prichard. The said detail
drawings, plans, specifications, profiles and surveys of said work and
the cost estimate thereof, which have been exhibited to the City Council,
areihereby adopted by said Council and shall remain on file in the Office
of the City Clerk until July 7, 1952, where affected property owners and
other interested parties may see and examine the same,
3. ‘ That the said sewers be constructed of vitrified clay pipes with
bituminous joints, that manholes be constructed of brick, concrete and
cast lron, all as shown on the approved plans and specificaticns.
lh. That the cost of constructing the improvements provided for in the
preceding sections shall be assessed against the properties abutting on
the strsets and portions thereof herein provided to be improved in the
manner provided oy the laws of the State of Alabama; provided: no
assessment shall exceed the cost of the improvement nor the increased value
of such property by reason of the special benefit derived from such
improvement »
5e That the City Council of the City of Prichard will mest on the 7th
day of July, 1952, at 6:00 o'clock P. M. in the City Hall to hear any
objections, remenstrances or protests that may be mede against the
improvenents provided for herein, the manner of making same, the character
of materlals to be used, or the method providing for the paymont.tthereof .
6. That the City Clerk is hereby directed to cause a copy of this Ordinance
to be published once a week for two consecutive w:eks in the Prichard
Cltizen, a newspaper published in the City in general cireuletion tnerein,
the first insertion to be at least two weeks prior to July 7, 1952, the
date herein set to heer objections, remonstrances, or protests respecting
the improvements provided for herein,

7+ That the City Clerk is hereby directed to have & copy of this
Ordinance sent by registered mail, postage prepaid, to each ofthe
persons last assessing for city or county taxation the Property which
may be assessed for said improvenenta, each such copy to be meiled
to each such Person at this last kmown address not dess than ten days
prior to duly 7, 1952,
