Page 1 ORDINANCE NO.: 2951 AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING SIGNATURES ON CHECKS AND ACCOUNTS OF THE CITY OF PRICHARD, ALABAMA WHEREAS, a new mayor and council has been duly elected to hold office in the City of Prichard, Alabama, which officeholders have been duly sworn on oath and have taken their respective positions on this the first Monday in November, 2016; and WHEREAS, with the expiration of the term of office of the prior officeholders, it is now necessary to designate and authorize those with signing authority on the checks and accounts of the City of Prichard. NOW THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PRICHARD, ALABAMA, as follows: Section 1. For purposes of this Ordinance, the term ‘Account” shall mean every bank account, financial account, or other arrangement with financial institutions in which funds of the City of Prichard may be deposited or withdrawn. Section 2. From and after the adoption of this Ordinance, Mayor Jimmie Gardner, MAYOR of the City of Prichard, and Dariene P. Lewis, City Clerk of the City of Prichard, are hereby designated as the persons authorized to sign on all accounts of the City of Prichard, Alabama. Section 3. That two (2) signatures shall be required on all accounts and on all checks drawn on the accounts of the City of Prichard, one of which shall be either Mayor Jimmie Gardner or_Dariene P. Lewis, City Clerk of the City of Prichard; and the other of which shall be either Councilor : Section 4. That for each new account opened in behalf or in the name of the City of Prichard, unless the governing body otherwise authorizes, the signatory authority on each such new account shall, be in accordance with this ordinance.. Section 5. The signatory card(s) or other document(s) or authority on all accounts of the City of Prichard shall be made forthwith to conform to this ordinance... Section 6. That each person herein authorized as a Signatory shall provide a bond with such surety in an amount not less than $ 50,000.00 Page 2 Section 7. That the closure of any account covered by this ordinance must be approved by the City Council. Section 8. That all ordinances, resolutions and parts of ordinances and resolutions in conflict with this ordinance are hereby repealed and of no further force or effect. Section 9. The City Clerk of the City of Prichard, Alabama shall provide forthwith a copy of this ordinance to the banks and financial institutions holding accounts of the City of Prichard. Section 10.
