Page 1 ORDINANCE NO. 1899 AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE ANNEXATION OF SECTION 16, TOWNSHIP 3 SOUTH, RANGE 2 WEST INTO THE CORPORATE LIMITS OF THE CITY OF PRICHARD, ALABAMA SPONSORED BY: Councilman Ronald K. Davis Councilwoman Ossia Edwards Councilman Troy L. Ephriam Councilwoman Earline Martin-Harris Councilman George E. McCall Jr. Mayor Charles E. Harden WHEREAS, the Board of School Commissioners of Mobile County, Alabama has filed with the Clerk of the City of Prichard, Alabama a petition requesting the annexation into the City of Prichard Alabama certain real property described as Section 16, Township 3 South, Range 2 West in Mobile County, Alabama; WHEREAS, said petition was made pursuant to 11-42-21 Code of Alabama 1975, as amended, and the same certified that the Board of School Commissioners owns the said lands, that said land is continuous to the corporate limits of the City of Prichard, Alabama; and that none of the said property lies within the corporate limits or within the police jurisdiction of another municipality; WHEREAS, City Council of the City of Prichard, Alabama hereby finds that the petition of the Board of School Commissioners of Mobile County, Alabama is in order and that annexation of Section 16, Township 3 South, Range 2 West in Mobile County, Alabama is in the best interest of the citizens of the City of Prichard, Alabama; NOW THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PRICHARD, ALABAMA, as follows: 1. That the petition and request of the Board of School Commissioners of Mobile County, Alabama to annex into the City of Prichard Alabama that certain real property described as Section 16, Township 3 South, Range 2 West in Mobile County, Alabama is hereby granted. 2. That the corporate limits of the City of Prichard shall be extended and rearranged to as to embrace and include said property and said property shall become a part of the corporate are of the City of Prichard, Alabama. That the City Clerk of the City of Prichard Alabama shall cause this ordinance to be published Ca as provided by law and a certified copy of this ordinance, together with a description of the property herein authorized to be annexed shall be filed in the Office of the Judge of Probate of Mobile County, Alabama.
