Page 1 ORDINANCE NO. 1820 5 AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR A SALARY INCREASE FOR MEMBERS OF THE PRICHARD CITY COUNCIL SPONSOR: PRICHARD CITY COUNCIL WHEREAS, the duties and responsibilities of the members of the City Council for the City of Prichard have increased substantially over the last several years, resulting in an increase in the amount of time required of each member to carry out his duties in a responsible manner; and WHEREAS, it is in the City's interest to attract and keep dedicated and responsible public. servants, who are willing and able to spend the time necessary to carry out the business of the City of Prichard in an effective manner; and WHEREAS, the present council is of the opinion that to enable any person serving as a member of this council to do so without an undue financial hardship, there must be reasonable compensation provided. THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED AS FOLLOWS: That the monthly salary of each council member for the City of Prichard will increase to $800.00 per month, effective vy the first Monday in October, 1996. Aill other aspects of council - compensation related to meeting attendance and expense accounts will remain unchanged. ADOPTED THIS 18th DAY OF JULY, 1995 SSE M.
