Page 1 ORDINANCE NO.#__1687 BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PRICHARD, ALABAMA, AS FOLLOWS: WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Prichard, Alabama, has determined that it would be in the best interest of the City to enact an amnesty program to facilitate the collection of past due garbage taxes, it is, therefore, ordained as follows: All persons owing past due garbage taxes who shall pay the full amount of the principal sum of the past due garbage taxes on or before September 15, 1988, shall be relieved of the payment of any penalties or interest ane due as a result of the delinquency. Furthermore, all persons now subject to criminal prosecution for failure to pay the garbage tax shall not be prosecuted in the event that payment is made in accordance with the provisions of this ordinance. All payments are to be made to the Tax Office located at the Prichard Municipal Complex. This Ordinance shall have full force and effect upon its approval as required by law.
